Technical Advisor – Industrial Base & Production Economics

Location:

National Capital Region, On-site or hybid

Experience:

Bachelor's degree & 5+ years experience in industrial economics, manufacturing strategy, supply chain analysis, global network modeling, or operations research

Clearance:

U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance. Active TS clearance preferred.

MACH-20 is seeking a Technical Advisor to specialize in Industrial Base & Production Economics.

Anticipated Start Date: February 2026

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing strategy, capacity analysis, industrial economics, supply chain analysis, network modeling, or operations research
  • Experience analyzing OEM + subtier supplier networks, production throughput, bottlenecks, and cost structures
  • Demonstrated ability to build quantitative models of production systems (e.g., capacity, elasticity, scale-out vs. scale-up, mobilization timelines)
  • Strong ability to synthesize technical, economic, and operational data into clear recommendations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to learn new industries and production technologies quickly
  • U.S. citizenship

Desired Capabilities and Characteristics

  • Experience in commercial high-volume or capital-intensive industries (automotive, semiconductors, electronics, aerospace, heavy machinery, logistics, etc.)
  • Familiarity with factory modeling, discrete-event simulation, or supply chain risk analysis
  • Exposure to defense manufacturing, munitions, or DoD platforms (nice to have, not required)
  • Understanding of industrial policy, reindustrialization, or national supply chain resilience
  • Experience with input output table of macroeconomic industry-level data or global CGE trade model
  • Experience conducting cost modeling, make/buy analysis, or capital expenditure planning
  • Demonstrated ability to map, analyze, and visualize complex supply chains
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, analytical tools, and data visualization
  • Self-starter; able to lead and support within a complex, multidisciplinary environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of new technologies, production methods, and industrial ecosystems
  • Experience supporting DoD, government sponsors, or national security projects is a plus, but not required
