Manufacturing Assessments Lead

MACH-20 is seeking a Manufacturing Assessments Lead to plan, execute, and deliver Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Industrial Base Assessments (IBAs), Technology Assessments (TAs), and related manufacturing studies supporting advanced DoW technology development programs. This role requires demonstrated experience evaluating manufacturing maturity, production capability, and industrial base readiness through structured assessments and objective evidence. Assessments span a diverse portfolio of technologies—including hypersonics, advanced munitions, microelectronics, sensor systems, directed energy, and other emerging capabilities—requiring the ability to rapidly understand new technical domains while applying consistent manufacturing assessment principles. The selected candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders by delivering independent manufacturing assessments that improve acquisition decisions and accelerate fielding of new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Industrial Base Assessments (IBAs), Technology Assessments (TAs), and related manufacturing studies across advanced DoW technology programs.
• Collect and evaluate objective manufacturing evidence through documentation reviews, technical exchanges, manufacturing site visits, and facility assessments to identify manufacturing maturity, production risks, industrial base gaps, and technology transition challenges.
• Develop technical reports, executive briefings, and actionable recommendations to support acquisition decisions, program execution, and technology transition.
• Provide technical oversight of performer activities by tracking execution, assessing progress against manufacturing objectives, and monitoring risk mitigation and action items.
• Support proposal evaluations, research solicitations, cost estimation, technical risk management, and other manufacturing-focused program activities.
• Collaborate with government, industry, and research organizations to align manufacturing strategies, industrial base capabilities, and program objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Materials, Systems, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience planning, facilitating, executing, documenting, and briefing Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Industrial Base Assessments (IBAs), or comparable manufacturing or product evaluations.
• Working knowledge of the DoW MRL Deskbook, Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs), Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), production scale-up, and technology transition.
• Experience evaluating manufacturing strategy, production operations, process capability, quality systems, supply chains, workforce, facilities, and industrial base risks.
• Experience supporting one or more advanced technology areas such as hypersonics, advanced munitions, microelectronics, sensors, directed energy, RF systems, aerospace systems, advanced materials, or digital manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, analytical, technical writing, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
