Engineer/Scientist – Solid Rocket Motor/Energetics

Location:

National Capital Region, On-site

7+ Years, Mid-career to Expert Level

Clearance:

U.S. citizenship and DoD security clearance (or ability to obtain) are required

The candidate will support a government program manager to execute their mission and vision of existing programs. Candidate will actively manage technical performers to ensure alignment with program objectives. Candidate will maintain documentation and records of meetings, tasking, and deliverables. Candidate will write program update reports and presentations as needed per the client.

Comprehensive understanding of current state-of-art in solid rocket motor research and development and prior energetics expertise are required. Experience in solid rocket motor design, fabrication, and testing and energetics processing are highly desired. Understanding or experience with solid rocket motor regulations, standards, and policies, including those related to design, development, testing, and operation, is highly preferred to assist in stakeholder management and ensure compliance with industry and government requirements for solid rocket motor systems.

  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; craft narratives via PowerPoint slides

Responsibilities

  • Supporting government program manager in development of technical evaluations, reports, briefings, and other communications
  • Stakeholder engagement, including programs across the various US government agencies and services
  • Attending and organizing program reviews/site visits/field tests
