Dr. Meg Sales is a materials scientist and engineer with expertise in the growth and characterization of thin films for various applications, such as microelectronics, optical coatings, and novel memory devices, among others. She has nearly a decade of hands-on experience with process development of different thin film growth techniques and analysis of surfaces and material interfaces. She was previously a postdoctoral research fellow in the Electronics Science and Technology Division at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, and before that, a research associateship program fellow at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. Meg is passionate about effective science communication, has delivered numerous technical presentations at domestic and international workshops/conferences, and has published more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers. She received her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Virginia.
